The parish councillors are saddened to hear about the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and offer our condolences to HRH Queen Elizabeth and family.
His life was one of public service ranging from his Royal Navy career through to the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, much utilised in our County.
Cllr. David Staff
The parish is located approximately four miles south of the cathedral town of Bury St. Edmunds, with its Abbey gardens and vibrant mixture of shops and restaurants. The historic old wool towns of Lavenham and Long Melford are just a few miles away, as are the many picturesque villages of this part of Suffolk. We are also close to Sudbury - famous for the artist Thomas Gainsborough. Constable Country and the Suffolk heritage coast are also within easy reach.
Both villages have great pubs - the Red House at Stanningfield (01284 828330) offers a full menu for food and are dog friendly.
A less formal source of information (such as upcoming local events, and immediate neighbourhood watch updates) can be found on the Facebook page for both villages here: Bradfield Combust & Stanningfield Facebook Page
